Before donning a barristers’ wig, I had worn many hats.

I have experience on both sides of the law. Prior to studying law, I served as a Constable in the Queensland Police Service in country Far North Queensland.

I completed my studies at Bond University, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours), a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Criminology and International Relations and a Post-Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

Admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in October, 2010, I commenced practise as a solicitor in a busy boutique criminal law firm. I’ve had experience in criminal and family law firms, and also within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Qld).

As a young man, I decided to place my legal career on hold, seeking the most difficult challenge I could find. Joining the Australian Defence Force in 2012, I served first, as a Maritime Warfare Officer and lawyer in the Royal Australian Navy, before transferring into the Australian Army and commencing General Service Officer training at the Royal Military College - Duntroon. I was selected to undertake training overseas, and graduated from the Officer Cadet School, New Zealand in 2014, having trained for a year in the austere environment of Waiouru. Of the original 112 that started my course, I was one of 28 who graduated eighteen months later.

Commissioning as a Lieutenant, I requested and was assigned into the Royal Australian Infantry Corps where I undertook roles as a Rifle and Specialist Platoon Commander within the Second Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment (2 RAR). Later in my military career, I was selected to be a Military Instructor, graduating three intakes of recruits into Full time and Reserve service. Upon promotion to Captain, I transferred to the Australian Army Legal Corps where I served until discharging from the Australian Defence Force.

I am currently completing a Master of Business Administration, which I expect to complete in November 2019.

I operate a registered Australian Veteran Owned Business, and look forward to opportunities to assist you.
